Haruniyeh

The Haruniyeh dome is a building with an Azerbaijani architectural style that is located in the city of Tus in Khorasan Razavi province. This building was constructed in the 8th century AH by the Ilkhanids and displays stone carvings and inscriptions. Some think that this building was a khanqah or the tomb of Imam Muhammad Ghazali, a famous Iranian philosopher and mystic. But others have considered it a mosque or a school. The name Haruniyeh was given to this building at the time of constructing the mausoleum of Ferdowsi and has nothing to do with Harun al-Rashid, the Abbasid caliph. The Haruniyeh dome is the most spectacular and oldest monument in the heart of Tus city that attracts many visitors.
